Dear interpreters,

Brazilian corruption scandals make headlines worldwide and have become a hot topic on the international scene. Interpreters must be able to cope with numerous references to government agencies and authorities lest they fall behind in the wake of a myriad of legal terms. This quick lecture/workshop is aimed at addressing the language involved in corruption-related conducts, sanctions, and developments in between. Our starting point will be an overview of the Brazilian government structure and court system and then we will go on to cover the rules governing corruption and some terminological aspects of Operation Car Wash, in search for English equivalents.
