AIIC Training & Professional Development
This seminar - led by Franz Pöchhacker - will provide teachers of interpreting with a state-of-the-art overview of research on interpreting and will cover both general and specific topics of interest, also in relation to professional and training issues. Two courses will be held back to back to allow more trainers to attend.
The seminars will comprise three main parts:
Franz Pöchhacker is Associate Professor of Interpreting Studies at the University of Vienna. He has worked as a conference and media interpreter and published articles and monographs on various domains of interpreting, including the textbook Introducing Interpreting Studies (Routledge, 2004/2016). He is co-editor, with Minhua Liu, of Interpreting: International Journal of Research and Practice in Interpreting, and has edited the Routledge Encyclopedia of Interpreting Studies (Routledge, 2015).
This seminar is designed for interpreter trainers and practicing interpreters with an interest in learning more about interpreting research and training.
