AIIC Italy’s Members

AIIC Italy requires a rigorous peer approval procedure for admitting its members (peer review), which is monitored at international level. Interpreters admitted in this way are bound by an ethical code that protects the interests of all parties involved and, in particular, guarantees absolute professional confidentiality.

Professional Development

AIIC Italy attaches great importance to the continuing professional development of its members and promotes several upgrading and educational training initiatives in Italy. For this purpose, it is able to use the international network of AIIC World trainers. Furthermore, it is involved in the sectors of research, as well as university and advanced level training. Many of its members are university lecturers, in permanent or contractual positions.

Initiatives

AIIC Italy also takes part in initiatives for sign language interpreters, for interpreters working in areas of conflict, in the legal field and for young interpreters.

Standards

AIIC Italy and AIIC World  work at the forefront in the definition of standards for the profession.
